6. CRA PRESIDING OFFICER’S COMMENTS
Bob Gause, Gause & Associates, noted that the Connor Park project is moving forward. He tentatively suggested April 25th at 10:00 am for the ribbon cutting. Mayor Bryant mentioned a possible conflict with a meeting with the Bradenton Economic Development Center, EDC. Mr. Gause mentioned one issue that has arose, is cameras are not currently part of the budget. The CRA Board would need to approve the allocation of those funds. He noted that adding the funds for cameras won’t exceed the overall budget of the project. The infrastructure is already in place for the installation of cameras.
MOTION: Mr. Jones moved to have the CRA pay for cameras to be placed
at Connor Park, not to exceed $50,000. Mr. Williams seconded.
Mr. Smith questioned the cost of the cameras to Mr. Freeman. Mr. Freeman responded that they can run from $700-$2,000 per camera. Upwards of 10 cameras will be needed at Connor Park.
The motion carried 5-0.
7. CRA BOARD MEMEBERS’ COMMENTS
Mr. Williams said the other days of the week of April 25th would work for him to schedule the ribbon cutting.
Mr. Jones said he will look at his calendar and send dates he is available for the ribbon cutting to Penny.
